Our outpatient services include a Partial Hospitalization Program offering psychiatric day treatment for adults and an Adult Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program offering day and evening sessions.

Three Rivers Behavioral Health is seeking a dynamic and talented Licensed Counselor (Per Diem) for our Adult Outpatient Programs.

The Counselor will provide quality case management and psycho-therapeutic services to individuals with substance abuse or chemical dependency problems; serves as a member of interdisciplinary team supporting the organization’ treatment program and philosophy and assures the deliverance of quality treatment to patients and their families. The CD IOP Counselor supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups. This is per diem, weekday position (primarily afternoons).

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in a Human services field and with a minimum of two years’ experience as a licensed social worker or a licensed professional counselor.

  • Valid South Carolina licensure as a mental health professional (LMSW, LISW, LPC) required.

  • Strongly prefer at least 2 years experience working in the field of addiction and/or substance abuse

  • Certification in Addictions is strongly preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of substance abuse dynamics, problems, and treatment modalities; working knowledge of psychological and physical symptomatology associated with chemical dependency, specific to patients' age and developmental stage Must have knowledge of assessment process, counseling, and psychopathology.

  • Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the network of state agencies, community resources, and aftercare. Demonstrates strong communication skills, written and verbal. Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, referral sources and general public.. Demonstrates ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
