ATS International, asset based supply chain services and solutions company is seeking a dynamic individual for our International Logistics Specialist position. Our services include ocean/international freight forwarding, international logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services.

The Logistics Specialist (LS) is responsible for reviewing received inquiries and developing & executing transportation concepts for those inquires deemed vetted/qualified as meeting ATS International service capabilities. The Logistics Specialist provides customer and sales support functions as assigned to ensure set Revenue, Margin dollars.

Under limited supervision, the Logistics Specialist is responsible for supporting the sales efforts of ATS Maritime through effective planning, pricing, and execution of commercial opportunities to meet company goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responds to sales or customers requests for international transportation services in a timely manner by developing plans and pricing models according to scope of work to meet customer’s needs.

  • Develops transportation plans including cargo components, pre-carriage, inland carriage, ocean carriage, port work, customer clearance, and delivery.

  • Builds pricing models to include all components of transportation plan and provides to customer in format defined in the scope of work.

  • Executes transportation solutions once awarded by customer by coordinating and contracting with various service providers such as ocean carriers, terminal operators, and independent agents to ensure customers needs have been made.

  • Maintains pricing information for ports, terminals, agents, and transportation companies within geographic areas of responsibility by entering information in a spreadsheet, database or file to be used for future requests for services.

  • Stays current with transportation changes and developments within geographic areas of responsibility by reviewing trade publications and online sources for information to use in future responses to commercial opportunities.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Must have general customer service principles and office procedures usually gained through 3-5 years of training and/or experience in the transportation field.

  • Knowledge of geography and basic map-reading.

  • Must have excellent phone etiquette, general clerical and organizational skill

  • Team player, amenable to a variety of work projects and available to travel as needed.

  • Must be analytical with the ability to apply data.

  • Be proficient in responding to internal and external customer situations, responding to customer needs as required.

  • Ability to both think creatively and provide creative contributions to projects.
