BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN

Substance Use Disorders

Springfield, Missouri

Full-Time & Part-Time options (subject to availability)

Join our team as a Behavioral Health Technician and help make a positive impact on the lives of individuals struggling with substance use disorders!

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our clients while they navigate their journey towards recovery. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with our team of professionals to provide individualized care and support to each client, helping them develop the tools and strategies they need to achieve long-term success.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor client activities and document observations to inform therapeutic interventions

  • Participate in admissions and orientations, conduct vital sign checks, and facilitate group therapy sessions

  • Provide transportation and assistance with daily living tasks as needed

  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including documentation of client progress and behavior

  • Collaborate with the treatment team to identify client strengths, needs, and goals

  • Ensure all program expectations and rules are followed, and report any exceptions to your supervisor

  • Facilitate educational and recreational activities to promote client engagement and well-being

  • Adhere to all medication policies and work with trained staff to ensure proper administration

  • Screen and monitor detoxification clients to ensure their safety and recovery needs are being met

  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other events as requested by your supervisors

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the company's mission and goals

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of responsible employment history

  • Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing substance use and mental health disorder treatment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to establish rapport with clients and collaborate with colleagues

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (for positions requiring transportation)

  • First Aid and CPR certification (within three months of hire)

  • Completion of background check, including criminal record, driving record, and abuse/neglect registry check

  • Successful completion of New Hire Orientation and all mandatory trainings within specified time frames
