Description

Robert Half is currently seeking a skilled macOS Engineer for a 100% remote contract position with our client. This role is crucial in managing, maintaining, and supporting their macOS fleet across multiple environments. These include end-user devices, Mac build farms, and others. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mac support that includes scripting, a passion for endpoints, security, automation, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and provide support for the macOS fleet, which includes profile and application deployment, implementing security enhancements, and addressing ticket escalations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to automate the endpoint lifecycle.

• Automate Mac build farms to aid in iOS development.

• Support M& As, compliance, and audit efforts across the IT organization; assist with e-discovery.

• Develop, refine and improve operational metrics to track fleet health.

• Create and maintain internal and external documentation covering processes and workflows.

• Serve as an escalation point for both the IT organization and the business.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of extensive experience in open-source or code-based macOS management tools, such as Puppet, Chef, Munki, or Autopkg.

• Proven success in managing endpoints in a global, remote environment.

• Experience with security tooling, including device encryption, anti-virus tooling, digital certificates, patch management and application management.

• Knowledge and experience in scripting in one language, such as Python, Bash, Go, PowerShell, or Ruby.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with version control (git) and CI/CD.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure will be advantageous.
