Description

We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to join our team based in Salinas, California. The primary function of the role is to process weekly payroll for all field and packing facilities, maintain accuracy in the payroll system, and ensure all deductions are correctly applied. This role plays a crucial part in the smooth operation of our accounting function.

Responsibilities:

• Compile payroll data such as hours worked, sales, or piecework to calculate gross wages

• Deduct appropriate taxes and health insurance from employee wages

• Process high-volume weekly payroll ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee

• Handle data concerning transfer of employees between departments

• Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Knowledge of About Time software

• Ability to manage Benefit Functions

• Experience in Check Processing

• High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification

• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable

• Willingness to continue learning and improving skills.
