Job Responsibilities:

Activities include:

•Supervise, direct, assign tasks, and evaluate performance of crime analysts who may be assigned to report to the Lead Analyst, when applicable.

•Identify, organize, and complete projects that enhance overall Center operations, efficiencies, and services.

•Review crime analysts’ and CAC operations to identify processes where efficiency can be improved.

•Assist and coordinate analysts in the development of crime analysis products, bulletins, and pattern analysis.•Independently perform a variety of research and analytical tasks.

•Collect, compile, validate, interpret, and analyze data and trends using standard practices and techniques of crime and/or law enforcement intelligence analysis.

•Perform statistical, spatial, and/or qualitative analyses, making use of standard software packages.

•Prepare and deliver reports and presentations of analytic results and may be required to testify in court proceedings.

•In the furtherance of delivery of Real-Time Crime Services, provide crime analysis and intelligence support to law enforcement as they respond to, investigate, and otherwise address criminal activity.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Criminology or a related field plus two (2) years’ experience with Geographic Information Systems, crime analysis, database management, and related research;

OR

A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field plus two (2) years’ experience in crime analysis, research, and interpretation of law enforcement data.

Job Summary:

Please note-this position is for the Monroe Crime Analysis Center in Rochester, NY. Flexibility to work evening/weekend shifts will be required.

The Lead Analyst is responsible for supporting the operation of the Monroe Crime Analysis Center (MCAC) in Rochester, New York. This oversight includes supervision of personnel and daily operations. This position will assist the Assistant Crime Analysis Center Administrator and MCAC Director in supporting the work of the Crime Analysts and 1 Lead Technology Analyst. The Center is staffed with a team of crime analysts and sworn law enforcement members who support area law enforcement agencies in their efforts to track and reduce crime.
