Job Description

We are looking for a Software Developer to join a fast paced and growing brokerage/trading organization within a large financial institution. This team is responsible for a next generation trading platform that is going to be crucial to the company's future success. It has recently been launched into production and is receiving so much traction and interest that the team has to grow significantly and quickly.

The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for working closely with the Technical Lead to architect, design and build pilots and new products. Candidates must be comfortable working with a small team of developers in a fast paced and highly ambiguous environment working with emerging technologies, high risks and uncertainty.

This individual needs to be on site one week per month at any of the following locations: Raleigh, NC/ Dallas, TX/ New England (Boston, NH, RI), NYC/NJ area.

This individual will be joining a small squad of one Product Owner and 1 Lead Developer to help create new functionality around Margin. If this individual has any experience within capital markets, brokerage or understanding of basic margin concepts that would be ideal. He or she should be very self sufficient, great communicator and able to take ownership of delivery along with writing code. This individual is going to help design the data schemas and structures for the microservices and then be responsible for writing and maintaining the code. He or she will need to be senior and communicative in order to help design this microservice from scratch.

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with Java development, Go Lang, OR typescript/Node.js development (ability to develop APIs, light weight microservices, database design and schemas)

• Experience working in a Spring or Spring Batch framework, understand how it works and basic concepts

• Database Experience: Relational (Oracle, MY SQL PostgreSQL) : experience writing queries and aggregation queries

• Experience designing and maintaining data structures within microservices

• Knowledge of cloud computing environments, applications, and tools

• STRONG architectural and design capabilities

• Ability to collaborate and problem solving skills, able to walk through code design

• Ability to serve as lead POC for the microservices and product line, work directly with business area - Experience with unstructured databases: MongoDB, MariaDB, NOSQL

• Experience working within brokerage or capital markets, understanding of Margins null
