LAKE COUNTY Planner Tech - Lake County in POLSON, Montana

The Lake County Planning Department is accepting applications for a Planner Tech. The Lake County Planning Department is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Planner/Tech position. The position involves administering a wide variety of land-use and planning regulations. Preferred degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, Geography, or a related field, or have a minimum of two years of professional experience in a similar position or have an equivalent combination of education and experience. QUALIFICATIONS: -Enjoy a team-oriented work environment -Be detail oriented and quality driven -Be able to manage multiple priorities on a daily basis -Be willing to learn, take direction, be ready to adjust, and be able to think on their feet -Have previous experience with customer service, report writing, public speaking, ability to exercise independent judgment -Be able and willing to effectively and professionally communicate with members of the public under potentially stressful conditions -Be able to attend public meetings, evening meetings -Have and maintain a valid drivers license and be able to conduct site visits to properties within the county DUTIES: -Conducting themselves in a professional manner -Assisting the administrative staff with front desk duties including end of day revenue, responding to e-mails and phone call correspondence, and other tasks as required -Covering the front desk on days that the administrative assistant will be out of the office -Assisting the public with research and answering property related questions -Reviewing extension and amendment request applications and plans to ensure compliance with governmental regulations -Conducting site visits to properties within the county to evaluate for compliance -Processing violations -Taking direction from and reporting to the Planning Director (specific duties assigned are determined by the Planning Director) Hours/Days: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m./M-F; may work some non-office hours.
