STAFF ACCOUNTANT - Residential Construction Company in North Atlanta

My client, a well-known and respected residential construction company in North Atlanta, is searching for a Staff Accountant to join their team for an immediate, direct-hire opportunity. The Staff Accountant is a full-time position responsible for managing various financial activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting in a dynamic growth organization. This role includes maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with the close processes, and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable. The Staff Accountant will also support the Chief Financial Officer and respond to management and audit information requests.

Position Responsibilities:

• Oversee the general ledger and manage the monthly closing process.

• Assist with monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.

• Prepare and update monthly financial reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

• Manage intercompany accounting processes.

• Conduct job costing and review.

• Perform AIA reconciliation.

• Support all aspects of the annual audit process.

• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.

  Requirements

• Strong organizational, quantitative, and analytical skills.

• High attention to detail with a reliable and consistent work ethic.

• Solid understanding of GAAP accounting and a strong general ledger background.

• Logical approach to work challenges and a commitment to continuous improvement.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities.

• Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to meet deadlines.

• Strong working knowledge of Excel and Sage 300 is preferred.

• Two to four years of experience in construction accounting is preferred.
