Phillips 66 Technical Pipeliner - Oklahoma City, OK in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The Technical Pipeliner will office out of Oklahoma City, OK. The Technical Pipeliner will work independently and with other personnel to maintain and operate equipment and processes in Midstream business unit. Some of the processes involved use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Typical working conditions include: outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities may include:

  • Coordinating activities as needed to assist in the receipt, storage and delivery of petroleum products via pipeline.

  • Conducting emergency onecalls, line locates, and onsite excavation third party.

  • Performing operational duties in accordance with Phillips 66 operating and procedures guides and local operating procedures guides.

  • Identifying and promptly communicating operational and equipment problems and completing trouble reports.

  • Performing troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, calibrations and replacement of equipment as necessary.

  • Performing equipment monitoring and maintenance documentation.

  • Monitoring and enforcing safety rules.

  • Performing planned maintenance checks and calibrations and submitting appropriate reports in a timely manner.

  • Assisting with construction and maintenance projects.

  • Writing and reviewing work permits associated with construction or maintenance in operating areas.

  • Supervising and directing contract crews.

  • Completing and maintaining required safety and regulatory training.

  • Acquiring operator qualifications, as required.

  • Performing environmental and regulatory checks (eliminating, containing and reporting all product seeps and spills).

  • Complying with all applicable DOT and OSHA regulations, and safety policies and procedures.

  • Maintaining emergency equipment.

  • Identifying and pursuing improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license

  • To travel up to 15% of the time

  • Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • To climb various ladders and stairs to operate valves, gauge tanks, or perform maintenance on equipment are a part of this position. The ladders and stairs range from 5 to 50 feet in height

  • To raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds

  • To walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain

  • To work outside in harsh weather conditions

  • To work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure and heat

  • To work alone a high percentage of the time

  • To be on rotating call for pipeline movements and equipment problems

  • To respond to emergency calls as needed

  • To work overtime on an as-needed basis

  • To wear personal protective equipment (such as fire retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)

  • To maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

  • To perform firefighting duties

  • 1 years or more of direct operational experience in the oil and gas industry

  • 1 or more years of experience with Mechanical and rotating equipment

  • 1 or more years of experience with the following:

  • Allen-Bradley PLC's

  • Rosemount Transmitters

  • OMNI flow computer

  • Other general pipeline knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Maintenance, Instrumentation or Industrial Electronics

  • 3 years or more of direct operational experience in the oil and gas industry

Midstream

Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals.
