Kaiser Permanente Product Development/Product Management Consultant II in Oakland, California

Job Summary:

Gathers data and provides basic analysis with consultation, under some guidance, to develop a product strategy, support the ideation process, and ensure metrics are provided and maintained in product dashboards. Gathers data and provides support for product feasibility with functional partners for a focused set of products or LOBs. Updates specific pieces of collateral and supports basic product, customer, and member issues and aids in their resolution, under supervision. Gathers and analyzes information for business-case development. Maintains and updates benefits/plans to meet regulatory and internal/external benefit administration needs, under supervision. Aides in the creation of agendas, materials, and notes during product/benefit requirement meetings that incorporate line of business, regional, organizational, product strategy, customer needs, consumer needs, regulations/standards and operational requirements. Facilitates activities to ensure projects and the product lifecycle are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Creates and/or modifies a product component and/or product enhancement component, and research to ensure benefits and policies meet all regulatory requirements. Develops a basic understanding of product-lifecycle management and the product development process.

  • Supports product portfolio performance and competitive analysis by: gathering data (e.g., financials, claims, membership, appeals) and providing basic analysis with consultation under some guidance; and ensuring metrics are provided and maintained in product dashboards.

  • Supports product requirement development by: maintaining and updating benefits/plans to meet regulatory and internal/external benefit administration needs, under supervision; and aiding in the creation of agendas, materials, and notes during product/benefit requirement meetings that incorporate LOB, regional, organizational, product strategy, customer needs, consumer needs, regulations/standards, and operational requirements.

  • Learns product knowledge by: developing a basic understanding of product lifecycle management and the product development process.

  • Supporting product training and change management by: creating and/or modifying a product component and/or product enhancement component, and research to ensure benefits and policies meet all regulatory requirements (e.g., state and federal).

  • Facilitates team management by: managing a matrixed team on an initiative.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university OR minimum three (3) years of experience in customer service, health care, product development and management, strategy development and execution, finance, sales and account management, marketing, consulting, benefits, program management, or a directly related field.
