National Inventors Hall of Fame Recognition Manager in North Canton, Ohio
The Recognition Manager will work with other members of the Recognition team and the video team to gather, disseminate, and confirm content related to the Inductees of the National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF). By working closely with colleagues within the team, this position will become knowledgeable about NIHF Inductees, help to foster relationships between them and our organization, and be an integral part of creating their stories that will be presented to the public, particularly their video stories. The Inductees of NIHF serve as the foundation of the organization’s mission and the inspiration for the organization’s nationwide education programs.
Position Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between Inductees and the organization, both remotely and at Inductee on-site locations
Coordinate with internal contacts for Inductee outreach, particularly the video team, essential for in-person visits and creating Inductee videos
Facilitate preparation and scheduling of Inductee in-person visits and video filming, working closely with the video team
Travel to Inductee locations to coordinate NIHF’s on-site content gathering/video team
Track and evaluate Inductee visits, working to implement improvements and efficiencies
Conduct oral history-type interviews with Inductees, both remotely and in person
Support research needs
Support NIHF content review for its programs, marketing, and recognition needs
Become knowledgeable of NIHF Inductees and related information
Budget management
Work on improving processes and projects through vision, assessment, documentation, problem-solving, and creative thinking; implementing changes accordingly
General support of the recognition team, as needed

This position requires a self-starter who understands the critical importance and necessity of being a lead and a decision-maker representing NIHF
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to think quickly and work towards implementing solutions
Ability to work efficiently and within budget and to maximize content gathered during Inductee interactions
Exceptional organizational skills while also embracing adaptability, flexibility, nimbleness
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
Capable of constructing complex schedules that balance meeting the needs of the organization and the needs of the Inductees
Ability to collaborate with other teams and key stakeholders
Must be able to work in an environment that is fast-paced and collaborative, where a positive demeanor is required for success
Confidence in interacting with both internal and external stakeholders
Strategic thinker, self-motivated, collaborative, and solution-oriented
Accustomed to professional travel and working on projects on locations away from the home office
Credentials and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in non-profit organizations, history, communications, marketing, or a related field
5+ years working in a communications/public relations role
Proven ability to establish project timelines and oversee a project to completion
Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office suite skills required; Dropbox; use of collaboration software such as Trello; Salesforce
Special Requirements:
- Up to 50% travel per year
