Packaging Team Members are responsible for constructing and preparing packaging and containers for cheese products and then properly package cheese products prior to distribution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Handle and inspect product for compliance with quality standards

· Cut product to packing specifications

· Make boxes or other containers

· Insert product into boxes/containers

· Tape/seal boxes or containers

· Label and code date product

· Palletize product

· Operate packaging equipment and machinery including; Load Rotary sealer, Pic Pack Cell Loader, Tape Machine, Pallet Wrapper, Box Folder, Box Taper, and Pallet Loader

· Perform quality checks on bags used for sealing

· Attend staff and department meetings

· Actively participate on EOE Teams that improve workplace safety, reduce waste and improve factory efficiencies

· May be required to work overtime if deemed necessary with occasional weekend work.

· Performs all other duties as assigned

· Report any and all injuries to your supervisor or manager at the time of injury.

· Complete all required training in a timely manner

· Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)

May:

· Take product samples for Quality Assurance Department

· Complete pallet cards and control point paperwork

· May complete bag log forms

· Move the final product for the material handlers

· JD Edwards system entry

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

· High School Diploma or GED

· Process flow knowledge of cheesemaking and packaging

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers

· Basic computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work with automated equipment

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure

· Ability to work in cross-functional teams

· History of good attendance

· Excellent organization and problem-solving skills

· Detail-oriented

· Ability to work with moderate supervision

· No travel required
