FIRST DISTRICT HEALTH UNIT Assistant Director of Nursing in Minot, North Dakota

**[Job Summary: [Assist Director of Nursing to manage and coordinate nursing activities within First District Health Unit. Carry out supervisory responsibilities of County Nurses and County Administrative Support staff in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Performs basic nursing care to clients by following established standards and procedures
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the nursing department including implementing and maintaining policy and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve problems and complaints in a timely manner, include appropriate people in the decision-making process.
  • Assess and evaluate current programs to determine effectiveness, plan and implement program revisions to assure current community needs are met.
  • Serve as liaison between county staff and Director of Nursing.
  • Collaborate with other FDHU divisions and outside agencies to assure services and programs are coordinated.
  • Provide or coordinate training and guidance to nursing staff to improve quality service through in-house training and conferences.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training County Nursing staff and overseeing the onboarding process.
  • Planning, assigning, directing, and evaluating County Nursing personnel.
  • Communicate information in a timely manner to County Nursing staff.
  • Plan and conduct monthly staff meetings for county staff.
  • Monitor County office income and expenses.
  • Assist in disaster response.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
