First Horizon Bank Sox Analyst in Memphis, Tennessee

Location : On site in Memphis, TN, Miami, FL, Birmingham, AL or New Orleans, LA

Summary

The SOX Compliance Analyst is responsible for helping ensure the effective operation of First Horizon’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance Program and acts in a consultative capacity with other personnel throughout the Company as it relates to business processes and SOX controls.

This position is NOT SUITED for recent graduates or those who have majority of their experience in internships

Key Responsibilities Include

• Perform annual planning of the Company’s SOX compliance efforts, including risk assessment, materiality, identification of significant accounts and classes of transactions (processes);

• Coordinate with Business Owners and Control Owners to ensure that internal controls over financial reporting are effectively designed and sufficiently documented within the Company’s SOX documentation;

• Communicate control deficiencies to Business Owners and Control Owners and assist them in designing remediation efforts;

• Evaluate, document, and report control deficiencies;

• Facilitate and monitor the remediation of control deficiencies;

• Maintain the narrative documentation of the Company’s SOX processes; and

• Identify opportunities for enhancements of the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and control activities.

Activities related to the above responsibilities may include documenting Company processes in narratives, flowcharts, and/or other forms of corporate documentation; performing walkthroughs of the Company’s significant processes with Business Owners and external auditors; conducting interviews of Company employees; traveling to various Company locations; developing and/or maintaining tools to capture, report, and facilitate the Company’s SOX documentation; compiling, analyzing, and reviewing data in support of business process improvements; and participating in special projects and various initiatives (e.g., new system implementations & related controls).

Qualifications Include

• CPA preferred; 4+ years related experience and/or training.
