AutoZone, Inc. Project Manager, Distribution Center in Memphis, Tennessee

AutoZone's Distribution Center Project Manager manages the project life cycle, ensuring projects are started on-time, completed on-time, and costs are within budget. The position is responsible for coordinating efforts across many different departments and various external organizations ensuring all resources are aligned to help accomplish objectives on-time and within budget. In addition, the position is responsible for resolving any day-to-day operational issues regarding DC systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop project management leadership skills and training for DC Maintenance Managers

· Lead DC Maintenance Manager weekly calls for project updates and status reports

· Maintain and update weekly SSC project list to include job scope, estimate, cost vs budget, approval, schedule and punch list

· Plan, organize and lead annual Maintenance Manager meeting

· Train and manage DC Maintenance Managers in bidding process including bid scopes, bid breakdown, bid analyzation and final negotiation for individual DC maintenance projects

· Develop, maintain, administer and order equipment on the DC annual fiscal year request bucket list submitted by each DC

· Develop and maintain BBPs

· Utilize AZ Procurement as required to bid/reverse auction DC equipment

· Develop and maintain equipment files with current costs and specification/cut sheets on all equipment utilized by DCs

· Engage DC Maintenance Managers with goal of alignment on model, or manufacturer of equipment to insure consistency, and best life cycle cost

· Manage utility usage, reporting and utility conservation projects in DCs

· Monitor and manage DC period maintenance costs

· Complete and submit ARS requests for Supply Chain; monitor and report until approved

· Monitor annual maintenance procedures for paving, roofs and major components of DCs

· Manage vendor PO, invoicing for assigned projects and DC equipment purchasing

· Assist in training new additions to the SSC Maintenance/Construction team

Ability to work in a Safety Sensitive environment (DC)

Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 5+ years relevant experience

  • Proven record of strong organizational and project management skills required

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills are needed

  • Up to 20% Travel with overnight stay
