Long Beach Convention and Entertainment CenterJOB TITLE: SENIOR CATERING MANAGERDEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage CateringREPORTS TO: Director of Catering Sales and EventsFLSA STATUS: SalariedSalaried: $90k-$95kThank you for considering a role at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, managed by ASM Global. We are currently seeking a Sales Client Services Manager (SCSM) to join our team. The SCSM will play a crucial role in mentoring and assisting Sales Managers (SMs) as assigned by the Director of Sales on their specific event(s).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for assigned client(s) before, during, and after their event.

  • Provide leadership and communication on behalf of clients to and from various departments, including Event Managers, Operations, Food and Beverage departments (Culinary, Operations, Scheduling, Finance, and Purchasing), and for strategic planning.

  • Attend weekly production meetings for assigned events and those being mentored, as well as site visits for potential and/or unassigned events.

  • Communicate with the Director of Catering Sales and Events about progress, challenges, or concerns regarding SMs assigned for mentoring and assistance.

  • Prepare Excel revenue forecasts for hosted and retail services for assigned events.

  • Create contracts, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), payment, and event analysis, including Cost of Goods (COG).

  • Continually interact with clients for program requirements before, during, and after each event.

  • Resolve all disputes and/or operational issues during events to a positive result.

  • Send final billing to clients post-event and follow up on any receivables for all assigned events.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Catering Sales and Events and/or General Manager of Savor. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (5 years) in Catering/Food and Beverage Sales Management, Event Planning, Hotel Convention Services Management, or Meeting Planning.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Organized with the ability to prioritize and strong time management skills.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Positive disposition with the ability to motivate staff to exceed guest expectations.

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and other hospitality software.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with experience working with diverse clients, professionals, and staff members.

Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. Catering Software Proficient.Other Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with working with unions and an understanding of CBA rules.
