Responsibilities

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing, ADON to provide assistance and supports the Director of Nursing in the management of daily Nursing Care as well as leadership, administrative direction, and supervision of staff. The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a seasoned professional who sets the example by leading and mentoring RN’s, LPN’s, MHT’s and ancillary staff members. Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates the nursing care provided. Must be flexible and cross-trained to float to various units/shifts (including weekends and holidays) as business needs exist. Supervises and directs the nursing care provided by other nursing staff in a positive and courteous manner. Communicates effectively to other staff to promote efficient continuity of care.

SummitRidge Hospital –is a place for Healing and Hope! Our behavioral health psychiatric hospital is in Lawrenceville (about 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta). We provide psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to adolescents, adults, and seniors, in addition to partial hospitalization and other outpatient programs (includes a location in Athens). On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at SummitRidge Hospital.     Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Licensed by the Georgia State Board of Nursing of temporary permit, as a Registered Nurse (required).

    • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with active licensure and registration by the Georgia Board of Nurse Examiners, as a Registered Nurse; Bachelor or Master degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience that meets the education, knowledge, skills and abilities.

    • Considerable experience as a Registered Nurse, providing clinical care, generally equivalent to 5 or more years; experience in a behavioral health strongly preferred.

    • Knowledge of general addictions and psychiatric nursing process, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting crisis and behavior management strongly preferred.

    • Previous experience working in a supervisor or manager capacity as Registered Nurse preferred.

    • Demonstrated ability to supervisor the work of others, and provide consistent, constructive feedback.

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

    • Skill in the use of computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).

    • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Joint Commission/CMS requirements, and both state and federal regulatory requirements.

    • Must be able to handle multiple competing task, with minimum supervision, and take initiative on matters of revolving urgency.

    • CPR certification required.
