Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Business Manager 3 to lead all business activities associated with the Logistics and Fabrication Solutions (LFS) Operating Unit (OU). The primary location for this position will be in Lake Charles, LA (No teleworking is available for this position).

This position reports to the Airborne Platform Solutions (APS) Business Unit Business Management Director within the Global Battle Management and Readiness (GBMR) Division and partners with the Operating Unit Director to establish strategy, prioritize requirements and achieve financial goals while ensuring the integrity of business processes.

Roles and Responsibilities include :

  • Leads a team of Business Managers and Program Control Analysts in executing a broad scope of business management activities to support program execution and compliance.

  • Provide business oversight, interface with applicable customers and auditors (internal and external) and assist with contract negotiations as needed to ensure sound business deals within authorized parameters are achieved.

  • Lead the Quarterly EAC process to include identification of risks / opportunities and determine backlog and margin booking rates.

  • Manage the monthly financial forecasting process to include analysis and recommendations on awards, sales, operating margin, and cash.

  • Interface with diverse functional areas to ensure risks are understood and financial performance is achieved.

  • The successful candidate must possess an advanced understanding of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS); Federal Cost Principles including direct versus indirect, allowable vs. unallowable; Forward Pricing Rate proposals (FPRPs) development, negotiation and execution; understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), Financial Planning to include Annual Operating Plan development, budgeting and forecasting to include Capital expenditures and inventory.

  • Individual should be proficient at developing and motivating a productive staff in a team environment with excellent interpersonal, planning, presentation and organizational skills with focused emphasis on continuous process improvement.

Job Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position emphasizes skills and experience. Will consider one of following: high school diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 14 years of relevant experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Mathematics with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience, or Master's degree and 8 years relevant experience in finance, accounting or program control

  • Understanding of DoD contracts, government Cost Accounting Standards, Commercial contracts, and the FAR

  • Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, financial accounting systems (advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel (incl. vlookups, xlookups, PowerPivot, charts, formulas, tables, conditional formatting, if/then functions, pivot tables, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent, 2+ years of management experience

  • Prior experience with program budgeting and forecasting, as well as Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development

  • Able to lead a team in numerous geographical locations

  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

  • Must be able to work on-site in Lake Charles, LA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with performing Earned Value, reviewing Earned Value performance, bottoms up EAC, risks/opportunity/pressure analysis

  • Intermediate, to advanced-level of understanding of the following systems or software is beneficial: COBRA (or similar project management software), wInsight, SAP, Cognos, and Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to develop and present material outside the immediate work function

  • Experience with networking and interfacing with employees of other organizations.

  • Full working knowledge of Financial Planning and Reporting, to include leading the development of monthly forecasts, Annual Operating Plans, and Long-Range Strategic Plans

  • Working knowledge of Government financial CDRL's

  • Active Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $129,000 - $193,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
