The Paramedic assists in the treatment and care of patients of all ages in accordance with established policies, protocols, and standards to provide quality care. Major Responsibilities: 1. Assists and collaborates with the RN and other members of the healthcare team in delivering patient care in an emergent or urgent setting. 2. Administers prescribed medications under the direct supervision and/or delegation of the RN. May participate in monitoring the administration of blood products but may not initiate. 3. Demonstrates effective communications skills within the healthcare team. Documents interventions, data, and patient response accurately and concisely, in a timely manner. 4. Demonstrates knowledge and use of appropriate equipment including that used for defibrillation, pacing and cardioversion. Responds to Code Blues according to policy and provides monitoring, defibrillation and other skills measures as directed. 5.
