Queen's Health System Anesthesia Monitoring Technician (Uncertified) - Anesthesia (Call-In, Varied Shifts) in Honolulu, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the supervision of the Medical Director, Lead Anesthesia Technician and Certified Anesthesia Monitoring Technicians, provides hemodynamic and physiological monitoring assistance during induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia.

• Performs first line maintenance on anesthesia equipment.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity, standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, twisting body, lifting usual weight of 20 pounds up to 45 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 5 pounds of force with assistance, carrying usual weight up to 50 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.

• Frequent: static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.

• Occasional: kneeling, crawling, squatting, climbing stairs.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

• Exposure to body fluids, blood products and communicable diseases.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field preferred.

• Current BLS certification.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of procedures relating to sterile and aseptic techniques and infection control.

• One (1) year experience as an Anesthesia Monitoring Technician or Anesthesia Supply Technician preferred.
