DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you function as lead worker by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of food preparation, production, service, and baking. You are required to ensure proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations. Also, you are responsible for inspecting all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards. In addition, you are responsible for planning and reviewing inmate work assignments, conducting performance evaluations, and maintaining inmate work records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week Work hours are rotating shifts, Sunday through Saturday, each with a 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,753.00 (before taxes). Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
