Job Description:

Seeking a Service Desk Systems Administrator to join our team.

The OCDETF Fusion Center program supports a multi-agency federal law enforcement and intelligence program crucial to the safety and security of our nation. Our GDIT team supports OCDETF by providing IT Services for maintaining 200+ servers, 200 workstations, Linux and Windows operating systems, VOIP phone system and several software applications and the 100 or so users located on-site.

Must be local to the office and able to work onsite.

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems

  • Works as part of the System Administration team to assist the critical customer law-enforcement mission

  • Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users by working closely with our system administration team and ISSO to perform system hardening (including deployment of patches and group policies), virus & vulnerability scanning.

  • Maintains an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software.

  • Provides first-tier technical support, including support via phone, e-mail, and in-person at our customer facility, to include password resets, application troubleshooting, and desktop support

  • Troubleshoots moderately complex system hardware and software issues

  • Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software

  • Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages using remote desktop administration, network/system troubleshooting and diagnostics

  • Maintains Active Directory, VOIP phone system and other standard systems as needed

  • Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels

  • Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions

  • Ensures data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations

  • Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines

  • Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users by working closely with our system administration team and ISSO to perform system hardening (including deployment of patches and group policies), virus & vulnerability scanning

  • May participate in agency data-calls and other coordination with government stakeholders to ensure the information security of our networks and systems

  • May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or 4+ years of related experience

● Required Technical Skills: Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: Cloud technologies, Red Hat Enterprise L inux, Windows Server, Windows Workstation, VMWare, PKI, Encryption, TCP/IP networks, Access control models, network and security monitoring tools, and Cross Domain Solutions, shell scripting, remote administration skills

● Security Clearance Level: SECRET, DEA Suitability required

● Required Skills and Abilities: Strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving and attention to detail

● Preferred Skills: Shell scripting, remote administration

● Location: On Customer Site

The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
