Robert Half Finance and Accounting has partnered with a premier employer here in Des Moines that is hiring a Senior Accountant. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will play an integral role in preparing financial and regulatory reports, providing financial analysis, and facilitating the preparation of annual budgets.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in and coordinate the preparation of financial and regulatory reports for management relating to the companies financial performance.

• Prepare select financial reporting and analysis.

• Prepare month-end financial statements for senior management and the board of directors.

• Assist with annual audits

• Maintain the fixed asset system and coordinate with Senior Management on facilities projects and budgets.

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.

• Prepare select monthly reports and reconciliations.

• Assist the Controller and CFO as requested.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial data management and reporting.

Requirements

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger management

• Skilled in creating and maintaining Journal Entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge of Fixed Assets accounting

• Experience in Audit - Financial

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA and MBA is nice to have

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proven track record in meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• High ethical standards and professionalism, as this role involves handling sensitive financial information
