Job description

Technical Writer/Document Control Administrative Assistant is responsible for developing clear, concise, and accurate project documentation and work instructions, managing and organizing documents related to company operations. The job description may include the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage document control systems: The Document Control Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining an organized system for managing all company documents, including policies, procedures, contracts, and other important records.

  • Control document revisions: The Document Control Administrative Assistant must ensure that all documents are up-to-date and accurate, and that all changes are properly recorded and tracked.

  • Ensure compliance: The Document Control Administrative Assistant must ensure that all documents are in compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies.

  • Support document distribution: The Document Control Administrative Assistant may be responsible for distributing documents to various departments within the company or to external parties as necessary.

  • Manage document archives: The Document Control Administrative Assistant is responsible for archiving and retrieving documents as needed, as well as ensuring that all records are properly secured and maintained.

  • Coordinate document workflows: The Document Control Administrative Assistant may be responsible for coordinating the flow of documents between departments and ensuring that all necessary approvals are obtained.

  • Provide administrative support: The Document Control Administrative Assistant may provide general administrative support to the department, including answering phones, scheduling meetings, and performing other duties as assigned.

  • From existing text-based work instructions, the technical writer creates and implements clear, accurate, and concise visual Product Summary Report (PSR) work instructions for manufactured product in accordance with all applicable Quality Operating System Procedures (OSP).

  • For each conversion project, the technical writer identifies and recommends process changes to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

  • The technical writer serves as a member of the Project Launch Team to help ensure a timely information transfer and completion of engineering activities for project launches and changes.

  • The technical writer / document control administrative assistant acts as a manufacturing advocate within the Project Engineering Team.

The ideal candidate for this role should have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Additionally, they should have experience with document management systems and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. A background in administrative support or records management is also preferred.
