Ag Plus Electronic Service Technician in Aberdeen, South Dakota

Ag Plus designs livestock production facilities with our primary focus being ventilation. We utilize the latest ventilation and feed system technology in all our building projects.

Our team is looking for a detail-oriented Electrical Technician to program controllers and other Ag technical products. The Electrical Technician will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks including the installation and maintenance of electrical components. We're looking for an individual who has electrical installation experience and has proven to be both an excellent troubleshooter and problem-solver.

*Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years post-secondary education in electrical or the work equivalent.

Responsibilities:

Install new and upgraded electrical systems in agriculture facilities. Monitor systems of automated equipment. Use software to verify that the controls are within certain parameters. Troubleshoot the problem to avoid or minimize interruptions to production. Assist in the design, development and testing of electrical and electronic components, equipment, and systems. Component bench testing, repairs, and documentation. Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test, and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems. Electrical control cabinet testing and commissioning. Startup of ventilation and feed control systems. Set up communication networks. Support customers through installation and after installation. Hands-on, and remote troubleshooting. Will require overnight travel for about 1 week a month.

Qualifications:

Inside technical experience within the livestock/agricultural field preferably with livestock equipment such as ventilation, feeding, watering, etc. Exceptional customer support skills are an asset. Candidate must have a valid drivers license and the ability to get a passport. No allergies to anything related to livestock such as dander, dust is a must. Comfortable with computers. Ability to work additional hours when required.
